KFNW Art for the Heart
Throughout March, KFNW/Fargo (Life 97.9) partnered with Sanford Children’s Hospital to encourage listeners to provide donations of new crayons and markers through their “Art for the Heart” campaign which benefited children spending time in the hospital.
Life 97.9 listeners donated 226 packs of markers and 337 packs of crayons or 10,235 crayons and markers in total. These will impact the lives and brighten the days of 563 local kids.
Hillery Mork, Development Manager for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, said, “We are so grateful for the unbelievable response to the Art for the Heart campaign for Sanford Children’s Hospital. Play, including art, is such an important part of the healing process. The collection of crayons and markers will provide many wonderful therapeutic opportunities for sick and injured kids and their siblings at Sanford Children’s. Thank you!”
Life 97.9 Listener Engagement Director, Carly Viland, said, “We are once again amazed at the response of the Life 97.9 listeners! Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, donations of crayons and markers kept pouring in from those giving through our Amazon Wish List. These art supplies will help put smiles on the faces of children facing chronic or life-threatening illnesses by encouraging them to find joy in creating art.”
