KCMS Announces New Morning Show
KCMS/Seattle (Spirit 105.3) PD Ty McFarland announces he’s hired Scott Carty and Erica Parkerson to host the morning show.
Ty says, “We are excited to have both of them join the new SPIRIT 105.3 Morning Show. Scott brings a sense of relaxation, conversation, and fun to everything he does. Erica’s a pro, she loves people, and she’s a ray of sunshine. It’s going to be an adventure! I’m thrilled that God’s brought them here.”
Scott is a Seattle native and an all-around media personality—his background includes experience in radio, TV, and voice over. He has developed his talents at assignments in News-Talk, Talk, and music formats, including stints at KPLZ “Star 101.5,” KOMO Newsradio, KVI, KIRO, and KISM. His TV and Entertainment Correspondent experience includes time invested at The Daily Buzz TV national show, Northwest Cable News, Celebrity Page TV, and others. As part of that work, he’s talked with Oprah Winfrey, Morgan Freeman, Leonardo DiCaprio, Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Aniston, Harrison Ford, Jennifer Lawrence, Steven Spielberg, Roma Downey, Tyler Perry, and many others.
Currently Erica hosts afternoons on His Radio/Greenville. Erica has been a key part of two very successful team morning shows in the CCM format, including the previously-syndicated “Eric & Erica” show based at WRCM/Charlotte as well as mornings at SPIRIT-FM in Lynchburg, VA. While in Virginia, she founded Butterfly Hugs, a popular community ministry that connects radio listeners with friends and neighbors battling cancer. She has written professionally for the Charlotte World and Charlotte Weekly newspapers and previously maintained a blog designed to inspire and encourage wives and mothers.
The new morning show will launch in mid-to-late October.
