Austin Radio and Tauren Wells have found an innovative way to celebrate Good Friday.

KGTN-LP/Austin (106.7 Radio Georgetown) and JOY512.com (Austin’s Worship Station) have partnered with Fair Trade artist Tauren Wells for a city-wide Good Friday Praise and Worship event on the Square in downtown Georgetown. Georgetown, TX is part of the Austin metro and is one of the fastest-growing communities in the US.

Tauren Wells will “takeover” KGTN and JOY512 24/7 Wednesday through Friday, April 4-7, 2023. The station(s) will simulcast and play Tauren Wells worship songs multiple times per hour 24/7. Tauren’s guests for Good Friday worship will be Pat Barrett and Aaron Cole.

Mel Jones, Executive Director of Ekklesia of Texas owns JOY512 and says; “We are excited about Tauren taking over the station(s) and bringing more Jesus worship to the community”.

The Good Friday worship with Tauren & others starts at 7pm on Friday. JOY512 is owned and operated by Ekklesia of Texas, a local Austin Church.

WRVL/Lynchburg (The Journey) was on site for “Eggstreme Hunt” a Central Virginia tradition, held on April 2nd. Music, games, stage presentations, and 50,000 Easter eggs filled with candy were highlights of the community event sponsored by Impact Church.

The Journey partnered with the church to promote the event and be on site playing music and giving attendees a chance to win Journey gear.

Promotions Coordinator Becky Mahle said, “There were some challenges with having to re-schedule the event due to weather, but it all worked out great. The weather was perfect, the kids had a great time, and people lined up from start to finish to come by the Journey booth. We’re so thankful to Impact Church for including us in the event and for being able to be a part of our community and ultimately share the hope of Christ during this season.”

KSWP/Lufkin GM Michelle Ross was om local TV to talk about their mission and upcoming participation in East Texas Giving Day.
