WELL/Opelika, AL (Praise 88.7) DJ/Ministry Representative Steve Culberson checks in with HisAir.
Steve says, “The station ended our 3-day Fall Praise-A-Thon 2023 in the newly remodeled studio (thanks to our listeners’ donations from the Spring Praise-A-Thon) a success!! We exceeded our goal by a couple of thousand dollars with a last-minute huge donation by a local businessman/contractor who said, “God has blessed my business beyond measure, and I want to give back! Our crews all listen to Praise 88.7 in all of our vehicles every day!”
Salem Radio Network host Mike Gallagher (pictured) originated his nationally-syndicated talk show from the NBC News “Spin Room” in Miami in advance of tonight’s 3rd Republican Presidential Debate. Gallagher’s SRN colleague Hugh Hewitt is one of the debate moderators; Mike returns for Pre-debate and Post-Debate specials which will feature GOP candidates Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, U.S. senator Tim Scott, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and former New Jersey governor Chris Christie
Consultant Rob Wagman is now Mayor Wagman. Rob grabbed 51% of the vote to defeat the incumbent to win the election as new Mayor of Kings Mountain, NC ( a suburb of Charlotte) yesterday. Rob says he decided to run for mayor because of his wife’s passionate love for her hometown of Kings Mountain. His wife Sarah Lee is co-host of the morning show at WKKT/Charlotte (96.1 The Kat).
On winning the election Rob says, “To God be the glory! Yes Kings Mountain, I will follow your wishes and accept the role as your new mayor.”
The Christian Radio industry is mourning the loss of Jim Channell who passed away yesterday. Story HERE.
Jim’s wife Arlene checked in with HisAir today, “Thank you for your kind words regarding my husband’s passing. I don’t know how you got that information so fast. But I’m grateful for you letting the world know that a great man had left us. When I remember that he’s with Jesus, I can stop crying for a while. Again thank you for your kindness.”

HisAir Flashback – Nov 8, 2021 – Hope Media Group announces a new morning show on KHVU/Houston (Vida Unida), their first Spanish-language brand. Buenos Dias Familia, begins Wednesday November 10th at 6am with co-hosts Myrka Dellanos & Sadiel Castro.
The JOY FM/Florida has kicked off its annual “T-Shirts for Turkeys” promotion. Listeners donate a frozen turkey and get a T-shirt from the Joy FM. At The JOY FM’s Turkey Stop locations they collect frozen turkeys to help those less fortunate in community at area food banks and homeless shelters.
