WCLQ/Wausau (89Q) reached its three-day Spring Sharathon goal on Thursday, May 22, with a record-breaking total of 3,000 in support. This surpasses the previous high of 1,000 set last fall. Listeners rallied in a big way, contributing nearly 0,000 on the final day alone. A $16,000 matching challenge near the end of the day was instrumental in helping the station reach its goal.
“I’m so grateful for this historic Sharathon,”General Manager Coy Sawyer shared, “I remember my very first pledge drive with 89Q back in 1995. At that time, we had no full-time staff, significant debt, and a modest goal of $30,000 for the same June through November period. We met that goal in the final hour—just barely—with $25 to spare. Here we are thirty years later, and listeners gave over $35,000 in a single hour—evidence of how richly God has blessed this ministry. We now serve North Central Wisconsin with a committed team of six full-time and four part-time staff.”
The impact of 89Q continues to grow, changing more lives for God’s glory. “It’s not just about the numbers,” Sawyer concluded. “It’s what those number represent – about what God is doing in hearts and homes through this ministry.”

After nearly three decades of hosting “FamilyLife Today,” FamilyLife’s nationally syndicated radio program, this is host Bob Lepine’s final week. Lepine joined FamilyLife in 1992 after working in local radio for 14 years.
“I don’t think I ever stopped to consider the impact the ministry would have on my life and on my marriage,” Lepine said, reflecting on his time at FamilyLife. “Having the opportunity to be part of deep conversations with so many amazing people, talking about life and relationships and marriage and God week in and week out has marked my life and my family.”

89.9 The Light/Melbourne morning hosts Lucy Holmes and Kel McWilliam shocked listeners yesterday and announced that they’re dating. The pair made the surprise announcement on Instagram on Thursday.
The Mail reports, Lucy and Kel have been friends for 14 years, and said their loved ones are ‘beyond thrilled that two best mates ended up falling in love.’
