WCIE/Tampa (The JOY FM) is #1 in the market again trending 6.6-7.8-8.6 AQH P6+ in the Sep Nielsen PPM released today.
Moody Bible Institute’s president, Dr. Mark Jobe announced today that Moody Radio will transition to a national network format to expand its reach through Christ-centered programming while expanding its digital presence to connect with new audiences. He said the goal is to reach 100 million people each week in 10 years. With this, Moody Radio is launching a new nationally broadcast morning program – “Karl and Crew” – a dynamic, spirit-led program designed to uplift and encourage listeners each day.
Wes Ward, Vice President of Moody Radio states, “As part of Moody Radio’s mission to share the hope of the gospel more widely, we’re excited to launch a new nationally broadcast morning show—Karl and Crew—beginning June 2. This dynamic, Spirit-led program is designed to uplift, equip, and inspire, continuing our commitment to biblical truth and helping you take your next steps with Jesus. Additionally, starting June 30, we’re moving to a unified national programming schedule as part of a broader strategic realignment at Moody. We recognize that change can take some getting used to—some familiar programs may shift times, and you’ll hear a few new voices along the way.”
The Moody Radio morning shows that currently air in respective markets will cease airing over the course of the next couple weeks.
Moody also announced a reduction in staffing as part of its overall strategic realignment of its ministry and resources. “This is one of the hardest decisions we have had to make as we seek to steward well the resources the Lord has entrusted to us,” said Jobe. “These are not just roles—they are valued team members, co-laborers in Christ, and close friends who have served faithfully and we are committed walking with them through this change with care and respect.”
Jobe added, “Moody Bible Institute is strategically realigning its ministries and resources as part of its Vision 2030 journey to double its impact – reach 20 million people by 2030. After much prayer and careful operational analysis, Moody will enter Fiscal Year 2025-2026 with a balanced budget and is committed to a clear plan to position Moody for long-term health and greater Kingdom impact. Among the announcements Moody said the following regarding media.”
“While many institutions are struggling financially, Moody remains strong by God’s grace and a longstanding commitment to sound, biblical stewardship,” Moody Bible Institute’s president, Dr. Mark Jobe, reflected. “We are debt-free, with healthy reserves and steady revenue. Still, rising costs and evolving ministry demands have led us to take a necessary look at how we operate.”
“God is using our efforts at Moody in powerful ways and I believe He is preparing us for even more as we boldly move into a new season of ministry,” Jobe concluded.

Colorado Springs-based OneChild, and Duluth-based, Presence Music Band, announce a new partnership effective May 1, 2025, to help children in poverty find faith, hope, and new opportunity through child sponsorship.
According to Brandon Monson, “At Presence Music Band, our mission is to make it hard to miss out on Jesus. Partnering with OneChild allows us to live that out beyond the stage—bringing hope to kids around the world. Just like in our song Lower Me Down, we’re willing to tear the roof off if that’s what it takes to reach others for Jesus.”
Faron Dice, Director of Partnerships at OneChild, adds, “We are excited about what is doing through Presence Music Band and how their mission aligns with ours. The need is great, but we have local church-based Hope Centers that are already helping kids and ready to serve even more.”

Former KWPZ/Seattle (Praise 106.5) employee, as well as other Seattle radio stations, Larry Lomax passed away last night after battling an illness for over 2 years.
American Christian author, Bible teacher and co-founder of Precept Ministries International Kay Arthur passed away today 5/20. Arthur has hosted a daily radio, television and online Bible study teaching program called Precepts for Life. She was 91.

WCVK/Bowling Green (Christian Family Radio) has hired Larry Castro as the stations new assistant program director. Most recently Larry was with KSBJ/Houston as Mentoring Manager and APD at NGEN/Houston.
Christian Family Radio operates three stations (WCVK Bowling Green, KY; WJVK Owensboro, KY; WZVK Glasgow, KY) with studios in Bowling Green.
