KFNW/Fargo (Life 97.9) listeners partnered with the station and area businesses to successfully complete the Hope Notes event, which aimed to bring hope and encouragement to seniors living in assisted living facilities across the Red River Valley.

From Feb. 1 to 26, Life 97.9 collected notes from listeners across the region. The original goal was to collect 200 notes, but the response was overwhelming, with over 500 notes received in total. The notes were delivered on Feb. 28, along with flower arrangements from Hope Blooms and cookies from Jen’s Bakery.

“I truly think Hope Notes has been our most successful event yet,” said Elaina Bekkum, Life 97.9 listener engagement director. “Not just because we more than doubled our note goal, but because it connected so deeply with our listeners and the greater community. When the seniors received the cards from Hope Notes, they were overjoyed. I will never forget the smiles on their faces.”

Life 97.9 is a part of the Northwestern Media network of University of Northwestern – St. Paul. Northwestern Media stations broadcast on 81 outlets across 11 states.
