WJQK/Grand Rapids (Joy 99) announced today they are bringing back “Jeremy & Amanda” to afternoons.. Replacing Ceci LaBarge who announced yesterday that Friday would be her last day at WJQK.
Jeremy told HisAir, “Ceci has been a trusted and joyful voice in West Michigan for nearly three decades, and her heart for people has made a lasting impact on both our team and our listeners. As she steps into a new season, we’re so thankful for all she’s poured into Joy99. Looking ahead, Amanda and I are excited about the opportunity to deepen our relationship with listeners and the JOY99 community.”
Jeremy Henry hosted mornings with his wife Amanda at crosstown WCSG/Grand Rapids from October 2014 to April 2025 when Amanda stepped away from the station. Jeremy continued the morning show at WCSG solo thru June this year. In June he announced he was joining WJQK filling the role of Digital Media and Listener Engagement, assisting with social media, digital sales, and engagement initiatives with listeners and the community plus doing on air work when needed. For Jeremy it was a return to WJQK where he served as Music Director from 2004-2014.
Jeremy and Amanda will start at WJQK this Monday (11/10).
Three-time GRAMMY-nominated and two-time Dove Award winner Danny Gokey—also a three-time K-LOVE Fan Awards Male Vocalist of the Year—has signed with Red Street Records.
The hitmaker (five #1 Christian radio singles, five #1 Billboard Christian album debuts, 1B+ global streams) will drop his first Red Street single, the original Christmas track “The Moment The Whole World Changed,” this Friday, November 7.
Danny Gokey shares, “I’m incredibly excited about this new chapter. At the RIAA’s 2025 Honors in Washington, D.C.—co-hosted with Billboard—GMA President Jackie Patillo and Daywind Music Group President Ed Leonard were both named Industry Executive of the Year.
Leonard responded: “I’m humbled to stand with those who defend creators’ rights. It’s a privilege to serve the Christian Music Trade Association labels that spread the Gospel through song. Thank you, RIAA, for protecting the God-given gifts that move hearts and souls.”

HisAir Christian Radio & Records Industry News TIMELINE – Nov 4, 2024
Soaring Eagle Promotions, owner of WSOH/Bellefontaine, OH (Rise FM) announced on the station website today that it plans to merge with River Radio Ministries of Columbus, WCVO/Columbus (104.9 The River). Rise FM and The River both plan to flip to all Christmas music Friday 11/29 when the merger will take place.
Rise FM stations will become The River. WSOH was know as Shine FM until Dec 2021 when it adopted Rise FM.
Rise FM founder/GM Mark Boyer says the merger is not for financial reasons, “Even though the last three years have been more challenging because of inflation, God has continued to provide for our needs. We can accomplish more for the Kingdom by merging our resources, our connections, and the talents of our employees.”
