ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers honored the songwriters and publishers of Christian music’s 25 most-performed songs of the past year at an exclusive celebration for its ASCAP Christian Music Award winners in Nashville .

Top honors were awarded to the following:

• Christian Music Songwriter of the Year : Brandon Lake
• ASCAP Golden Note Award : Matthew West
• Christian Music Song of the Year : “In Jesus Name (God of Possible),” David Spencer , David Spencer Songs, Essential Music Publishing LLC
• Christian Music Publisher of the Year : Capitol CMG Publishing

FEMA, in coordination with the FCC will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) TOMORROW.

The national test will consist of two portions, testing WEA and EAS capabilities. Both tests are scheduled to begin at approximately 2:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 4.

The WEA portion of the test will be directed to all consumer cell phones. This will be the third nationwide test, but the second test to all cellular devices. The test message will display in either English or in Spanish, depending on the language settings of the wireless handset.

The EAS portion of the test will be sent to radios and televisions. This will be the seventh nationwide EAS test.

Spark Media CEO Misty Phillip tells HisAir they are currently working on the production of the Spark Media Ignite Conference videos.

Misty says, “We will be putting together a virtual course of all the sessions on the main stage, and will be offering it for sale soon.”

The Gospel Music Association (GMA) has unveiled the initial lineup of performing artists for the 54th Annual GMA Dove Awards. The roster includes musicians such as Brandon Lake, for KING + COUNTRY, Katy Nichole, Miel San Marcos, Pastor Mike Jr., Phil Wickham, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, and Zach Williams, along with Walker Hayes. Host Tauren Wells made the announcement during a live broadcast on SiriusXM The Message’s The Olivia Lane Show.

The GMA Dove Awards will be exclusively broadcast on TBN and The TBN App on Friday, October 20th, with two showings at 8:00 p.m. ET and 10:00 p.m. ET. Additionally, the audio simulcast will be available on SiriusXM’s The Message (channel 63) and the SiriusXM App.

An encore presentation of the event will air on TBN October 27th, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. ET and 10:00 p.m. ET.
