Fair Trade artists MercyMe, is on top of Christian music charts for the 19th time. The band is on its 29th year.
Billboard reports, “MercyMe extends its records for the most No. 1s on Billboard’s Christian Airplay and Christian AC Airplay charts, as ‘To Not Worship You’ ascends to the top of both tallies dated Sept. 16.”
Eighteen of MercyMe’s other songs have previously reached the top of the charts which gives the band the “Most Number 1s” title. Curb Word artists For King & Country comes in second at 13 hits.

And for any organization looking to reach new followers and increase engagement, staying up to speed on recent updates and trends is imperative.
Just in the last six months, Twitter has become X and is showing some significant changes but without much engagement. The platform seems to be prioritizing video, which could potentially compete with YouTube down the road, but for now, we’ll ‘wait and see.’
Then there’s Meta and the new Twitter (now X) copycat called Threads. Threads is a text-only platform but without as many features as X. Although Threads caught much attention and curiosity at first, engagement soon fizzled.

Australia’s family focused radio alternative Sonshine is back on the air in Katanning. With COVID restrictions in place in Katanning, the transmitter equipment was failing and unreliable.
Sonshine CEO Bevan Jones says, “We were finally able to get the old equipment replaced and refitted with the help of our tech team and qualified volunteers, partnering with Katanning Baptist Pastor Jesse Dixon and his team.” On Aug 11th the new equipment and transmission was turned on, and Sonshine returned to Katanning, bringing the town and surrounding areas of Katanning family-friendly Christian radio once again.
CMAA’s annual Connect Conference 2023 brought more than 250 together to energize and inspire. This year’s conference had a slightly different format to previous years, with shorter, sharper presentations and a wider variety of guest speakers, panel sessions covering topics such as fundraising, innovation, handling criticism, and how to navigate the present cultural moment. Riley Clemmons and Bella Taylor Smith provided the music.
Highlights of Connect 23 included David and Helen Smallbone speaking about their journey through the Christian music industry, the exclusive screening of their biographical film Unsung Hero, and the Excellence in Media awards, which highlighted outstanding talent across not only media and the arts but also in leadership and innovation.
