WKNZ/Milford (The Bridge) with stations serving Delaware, Maryland, South Jersey, and the Eastern Shore of Virginia, announces the addition of Rachel Dukes as new Community Engagement Specialist. Her role is crucial in fostering connections and building relationships within our community.

Food For The Poor (FFTP) has launched its first podcast to engage donors and audiences in a new way. Hosted by FFTP’s Paul Jacobs and Danny Patiño, both experienced on-air radio hosts, Beyond the Plate will take listeners on a journey through compelling food-related stories and experiences. Each episode will revolve around food.

“This podcast will provide listeners with a deeper understanding of our work and the profound impact of food on community building and transformation,” FFTP President/CEO Ed Raine said. “We hope these stories will inspire and motivate our audience to join us in our mission to alleviate poverty and build sustainable futures.”

Certain episodes will be recorded at partnering restaurants, available both in audio and video formats, allowing audiences to hear and watch the hosts and special guests together around the table, sharing meals and stories.

Two episodes will be released every month.

The name “Beyond the Plate” was inspired by the profound human connection that occurs when people share food with others. The table becomes a hub for “tertulia” and heartfelt conversations, fostering genuine bonds between individuals. Beyond the Plate aims to evoke that same sense of community and connection with its podcast audience.

“Who and what I am is a man on a mission to find out everyone’s why,” Jacobs said. “I am an unapologetic conversationalist and at heart a professional talker. You matter to God and that’s why you’re here. You and your story matter to me.”

“My goal is to spread heartwarming stories, ignite motivation, and encourage the audience to join the movement of positivity that brings about change,” Patiño said.
