After 7 years + KFIS/Portland (104.1 The Fish) morning co-host Crystal Thornton has exited the station. Her position as part of the “Chris and Crystal in the Mornings” show was eliminated.

Crustal says, “I have made lifelong friends both within Salem Media Group and in the Contemporary Christian Music family. And I also believe that sometimes God moves you out of your own way, for another opportunity to allow him to work though you. I can’t wait to see where he leads me next! Keep me lifted up in prayer and keep following me.”

The station adds Kevin & Taylor to the morning slot while KFIS PD Chris Kelly moves to afternoons.

Radio Research Consortium (RRC) recently selected Atlantic Gateway Communications (AGC) President and CEO Kevin Krueger to join their board of directors. AGC owns and operates WGTS/Wash DC.

“RRC was established in 1981 with a long and stable history, one that I am honored to be a part of,” says Krueger. “Becoming a board member with this organization places me in a position to be a bridge to stations throughout my circle – such as Christian media, and also to help speak into the future of media research in a way that benefits all non-commercial media and their listeners. It’s truly an honor,” says Krueger.

A graduate of Walla Walla University (where he was on-air and program director at the university station), he played a pivotal role in the development of the Positive Life Radio Network in the Pacific Northwest, and, in 2013, joined WGTS as general manager. Embracing the station’s mission to bring hope and encouragement through many forms of media, he is also an on-air personality. He is continually seeking new ways to engage, uplift, and inspire his audience now, while at the same time planning for how it can continue far into the future.

HisAir is deeply saddened to report Dr. K.P. Yohannan, founder and director of GFA (Gospel For Asia) World and Metropolitan of the Believers Eastern Church, went to be with the Lord on May 8 following a serious accident in Dallas May 7. He was 74.

In an obituary, GFA World describes Yohannan as “a missionary statesman with an undying call to share the love of Christ with this world and to inspire others to follow in his footsteps.”  Yohannan shared his heart about biblical discipleship and the many “lost souls around the world who need the love and salvation that Jesus offers” on his minute-long program GFA Minute.”

The GFA Minute was rebranded in 2023, at the time Yohannan told HisAir, “My desire is that listeners walk closer to God and strengthen their reliance on faith that comes from having a heart for missions, Jesus, and the lost world.”
