Integrity Music announced Blaine Barcus as president of the record label, succeeding Jonathan Brown, who will transition to the role of Chief Global Officer.

Barcus brings extensive experience in the Christian music industry, having most recently served as Senior Vice President of A&R at Provident Entertainment, a division of Sony Music Entertainment. His previous leadership roles include positions at Word Entertainment/Warner Music Group and Creative Trust.

“Blaine’s reputation in the Christian music industry for developing and launching artists, as well as shepherding songs to CCLI success, is second to none,” said David C Cook CEO Bill Reeves. “I’m thrilled to have Blaine join Integrity Music to help expand the label’s opportunities while continuing the great missional work of equipping the Church through songs of substance that transform lives.”

“It is truly an honor and blessing to join the amazing team at Integrity Music,” Barcus said. “Integrity has an incredible legacy of equipping the worldwide Church by supporting and serving worship leaders, artists, and songwriters. I hope to contribute to the Kingdom impact of this great organization by nurturing the next generation of Christian creatives.”

On Thursday, a House Energy and Commerce subcommittee advanced the bipartisan measure H.R. 8449, which mandates that car manufacturers install AM radio-capable devices in all new passenger vehicles sold in the US at no additional cost to consumers. Lawmakers emphasize that AM radio is crucial for broadcasting alerts during emergencies and storms, even as automakers shift toward more modern technology.

“AM Radio stations play a critical role in our nation’s communications network, which is why I remain concerned that some automakers plan to phase out AM radio from their electric vehicle models,” stated Rep. Frank Pallone (D-N.J.) while announcing the new bill alongside Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-Fla.).

Joanne Church, President of Radio Research Consortium (RRC), passed away on May 21 in Maryland following a brief illness.

In 1981, Church and her late husband Tom collaborated with Arbitron to negotiate a group purchase of audience measurement data, making it accessible and affordable for individual public radio stations. They also initiated workshops to educate public radio managers and programmers on key audience metrics. In 1986, they co-authored “Audience Ratings: A Primer for Non-Commercial Stations,” with consultant Peter Dominowski.
