WVFJ/Atlanta (The JOY FM) is off the air due to tornados and strong winds that brought down a 1600+ foot antenna on Thursday. The affected signals are 93.3 and 102.1 Phenix City and Columbus. RTN engineers will visit the area on Friday to determine what the extent of damage is and establish a temporary signal on the air.
Truth Broadcasting WSJS/Winston-Salem (AM 600) remains off the air and 2 of the stations towers were vandalized earlier this week, according to owner Stu Epperson Jr.
A criminal investigation is currently underway, with the FBI involved as it is a federal crime. The station’s news/talk/sports programming is simulcast on four translators, with the main signal and W268CG (101.5) currently offline. However, W276DS (103.1) and W285EU (104.9) continue to broadcast. The status of WZZ9CH (93.7) is unclear.
Truth Broadcasting owns 17 full-signal stations and several translator signals across North Carolina, Virginia, and Utah.
