The team at WZDG/Wilmington (Hope Radio 88.5) completed the station’s first-ever radio fundraiser with Vidare Creative. Hope Radio 88.5 is a new southern gospel station in Wilmington, NC, and is owned and operated by Carolina Christian Radio.

“We had no idea what to expect going into this new station’s first fundraiser – but we are very thankful for the results,” says Matt Wall, president of Carolina Christian Radio. “Beyond the funds raised, our new team of on-air hosts got top-quality training from the Vidare coaches,” adds Wall. “Vidare has helped us pioneer a new format in our region that will inspire more people to put their hope in Jesus,” Wall says.

The fundraising event also allowed listeners to provide shower and hygiene products for homeless men and women in the Wilmington, N.C. area through a partnership with Vigilant Hope.

“Building a new radio station is hard work. We’re proud of the team at Hope Radio and are grateful to help them build a foundation that will help propel them into an awesome future,” said Dave Kirby, chief creative officer at Vidare Creative.

Congratulations to Roy Patterson’s 20 years of faithful ministry in multiple positions at Moody Radio. He has served as station manager, radio host and personality to his current role as assistant to the President for community relations.

Moody Radio co-workers celebrated Roy last week and these are some of the words used to describe Roy; faithful, authentic, servant leader, true brother, pastors heart, bridge-builder…. Moody Bible Institute President Mark Jobe says “Roy Patterson we appreciate you brother!”

Roy told HisAir, “I’ve always been captivated by media. It holds the power to inspire, direct and inform. My first day at Moody was September 11th. I was part- time and amazed at the professionalism of our broadcasters. They brought hope to that terrifying situation. Since then I’ve interviewed a number of “celebrities”. Wonderful artists. But I’ve always been in awe of people who love Jesus and will do anything to serve Him. I believe that’s God’s call for all of us. I also believe the best days are ahead. I just want to love what God loves and minister to a world that’s dying to know the truth found exclusively in Christ.”

Hope Media Group radio stations KSBJ/Houston, WayFM, Vida Unida/Houston, and NGEN Radio partnered together in the recently merged organization’s first combined promotion, the “World’s Biggest Baby Shower.” This timely and meaningful nationwide campaign aimed to provide diapers, formula, and wipes to moms in need across the country.

“It is inspiring to see how many people caught the vision of this baby shower and helped it grow beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. No one should feel forgotten or alone, especially new moms,” shares WayFM Midday Show host & Network Promotions Director, Bekah Eaker. “We’re praying that every single mom that receives diapers, wipes, or formula from this drive knows how incredibly loved she is.”

The kindness of the Hope Media Group audience exceeded expectations with over 55,000 diapers, 44,976 wipes, 200 cans of formula, and nearly $30,000 in gift cards donated to 40 pregnancy help centers nationwide during the month-long campaign.

Hope Media Group’s Director of Community Relations, Kim McKee adds, “The World’s Biggest Baby Shower was a beautiful portrait of God’s love through caring people around the nation! In addition to the generous gift cards and baby supplies, many donors took the time to include encouraging notes to the moms who desperately need these baby items. We’re forever grateful for the pregnancy help centers around the nation who offer support and encouragement to families during some of their most challenging and difficult times.”
