WBGL/Champaign has been hitting the road this summer for its inaugural “Small Town Tour”. Morning show team Johnathon Eltrevoog and Courtney Canfield dug into their small-town roots by visiting 4 communities in their listener area, leaving a trail of memories.   The tour made stops in Ottawa, Benton, and Monticello, IL, as well as Clinton, IN. Listeners shared their stories while WBGL showcased the people and businesses that give each town its unique character.

“From yard games to dance-offs, we aimed to bring the essence of summer fun to our listeners.” shared Eltrevoog. “But more than the fun, we were deeply moved by meeting our listeners and hearing about the impact WBGL has had on their lives. We are hopeful and excited about continuing this tour next year.”

The Gospel Industry Network (G.I.N.) concluded its second annual national conference last week in Norfolk, VA. The conference draws from across the country to participate in the event held from July 23-26. G.I.N. founder Kenneth Wells expressed his excitement about the significant growth achieved in just a year. The primary aim of the network is to provide opportunities, support individuals on their journey towards their aspirations, and give recognition and a platform to the hardworking laborers often overlooked in the Gospel industry.

This year’s conference featured an interactive lineup with attendees enjoying panel sessions covering a wide array of topics, such as Careers in the Music Industry, Radio Impact, Prioritizing Relationships, Balancing Love & Career, Live Recordings, and Navigating Quartets in a Gen X World. The conference also provided Independent Artists with opportunities to showcase their talents before record labels, producers, and radio announcers.

Transparent Productions will present the Fall 2023 Danny Gokey “Stay Strong Tour” with Austin French and introducing Natalie Layne. Following up on the successful “Jesus People” tour this year, Gokey is revamping his tour this fall with a fresh approach. The 20+ city nationwide tour will feature a unique opportunity to hear new arrangements of old favorites, as well as some of the stories behind the songs that will inspire, refresh and challenge you to ‘stay strong’ in the midst of whatever life might bring.

“This tour is gonna be a little different from my normal tours, so if you’ve seen me in the past, come expecting something new,” shares Danny Gokey. “In addition to all of the fan favorites you know, there may be a sneak peek of some new music I’ve been working on, too. Not only that, but I can’t wait for you to hear Austin French (he’s such an encourager), and introduce you to an awesome new talent, Natalie Layne. I’m really looking forward to joining with them in bringing these special nights and uplifting messages of hope through music. And, if you know me, there will be plenty of fun moments thrown in too!”
