Mankato, MN based Kinship Radio is making changes to its on-air host and program lineup starting Monday, June 15. With Beth Crosby’s recent departure to the Prayz Network, Kinship is pleased to have Kinship’s midday host, LaDonna Alvarado, move to mornings with host, Ryan Freed.
Kinship Radio release on the changes stated that Alvarado joined Kinship three years ago as its host Midday host. Moving to mornings, she and Ryan look forward to the change. The duo will focus on cultivating listener relationships through more interaction and involvement on-air and within the communities in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa.
Says Ryan, “I’m looking forward to building on the foundation of involvement and interaction we’ve already established with our listening family. Having LaDonna join the team ensures that commitment will continue to grow and flourish.”
Adds LaDonna, “God has so blessed this listening family that loves Kinship Radio. We believe there’s still a lot more good we can do together in Jesus’ name. I’m looking forward to starting each day with that in mind.”
On June 29, the All New Mornings with Ryan and LaDonna expands to 6:00 – 10:00 am. Several of the talk and teaching programs, such as Focus On The Family and Turning Point, move to the evenings starting at 8:00 pm. With Alvarado stepping off Middays, Kinship has tapped Christian radio veteran, Heather Erbe, to become part of the lineup from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Jack Robertson, brought in part-time to host afternoons for retiring host Doug Johnson back in March, has joined the team full-time to assist with content development and community relationships. Kinship expects to name a new host for evenings 6:00 – 8:00 pm within the next two weeks.
Program Director, Eric Johnson, sums up the changes as a means to better connect with current and new listeners who want a radio station they can call their station. “With all the choices available, accessibility to the person behind the microphone is critical to our ability to thrive in the years ahead. For us, it’s not about talking at listeners, it’s talking with listeners through life to have meaningful relationships that go both deep and wide for the sake of the Gospel.”
Kinship Radio is a non-commercial Christian radio network of 30 radio signals covering southern Minnesota and northern Iowa.

The Prayz Network/Sparta, WI has hired Beth Crosby as it’s new Assistant Manager. Most previously Beth was an air talent at Kinship Radio/Mankato, MN. She also served as Kinship Radio Program Director from 2002-2025 and was a Kinship Radio PT voice tracker for 13 years before returning to Kinship Christian Radio in 2005 as a program host.
Her first day at The Prayz Network will be June 29th.
K-LOVE is preparing to launch in the Baltimore market for the first time through the acquisition of 100.7 WZBA/Baltimore (100.7) and two FM translators from Shamrock Communications.
According to a release, Shamrock will sell the Westminster, Maryland-licensed Class B station, along with 100.1 W261CD(FM) in Baltimore and 107.5 W298CG(FM) in Bel Air, to the Christian contemporary radio network. An FCC application is expected to be filed.
WZBA-FM operates at 100.7 MHz, with 25.000 kW at 689′ HAAT
W261CD-FX operates at 100.1 MHz, with 0.002 kW at 305′ HAAT
W298CG-FX operates at 107.5 MHz, with 0.250 kW at 177′ HAAT.
Educational Media Foundation’s K-LOVE network has signed an agreement to acquire WZBA(FM)/Westminster, Maryland, along with translators W261CD(FM)/Baltimore and W298CG(FM)/Bel Air, from Shamrock Communications, Inc. An application for FCC approval is now being filed.
K-LOVE, Inc., the buyer, is a Tennessee-based nonprofit organization led by CEO Tom Stultz. The ministry owns and operates a nationwide network of radio stations, with K-LOVE and Air1 signals serving listeners in all 50 states.
Upon completion of the transaction and FCC approval, the acquisition will mark K-LOVE’s entry into the Baltimore market through the 100.7 FM signal and its associated translators.

Centricity Music has promoted four directors to vice president roles: Matt Ewald is now VP of A&R, Kris Love becomes VP of Promotions, Joshua Wurzelbacher is VP of Creative, and Michael Pons is VP of Finance.

HisAir Christian Radio & Records Industry News TIMELINE – June 13, 2018
After serving 25 years as program director for KJTH/OKC (The House FM) and KLVV/Ponca City (My Praise FM), Tony Weir (left) has been named CEO of the non-profit Christian radio networks. Weir will be taking the reins from Doyle Brewer, who founded the ministry in 1992. Brewer retains his role as president as he transitions into semi-retirement. Weir was the first employee of the radio networks 25 years ago when he was hired as program director. Since then, Weir has played an integral role in the radio networks, setting the music programming for both networks and working with the on-air staff. Weir will continue his role as PD in addition to serving as CEO.
“After 25 years, I still believe our best is yet to come,” Weir said. “God has put together a great team here with the potential to do great things for Him and for our listeners. I pray that He leads me as I lead them into the next 25 years.”
