At WBGL/Champaign Meridith Foster did her last midday airshift today wrapping up 28 years on the air. She’s not leaving but will transition to working full time on podcasts for the Wow God Podcast Network.

WBGL GM Jeff Scott told HisAir, “What a legacy. 28 years on the air. We will miss her daily dose of stories, but we can’t be more excited about this new season as Wow God is taken to a whole new level.”

WGTS/Wash DC and King Story Company teamed up to promote “for King & Country” and their new movie “Unsung Hero.”  Starting in mid-April, WGTS bought 30-second ads that played in most of the major movie theaters in the Washington, DC area. The spots advertised the movie and invited moviegoers to also experience “for King & Country’s” music on WGTS. The spots contained a QR code where viewers could watch the movie trailer, listen live to the station, or buy tickets to “for King & Country’s” upcoming show in the area.

In addition, the station hosted a sneak preview of the movie for listeners a week before its release. They also gave away movie tickets and a chance to win a trip to Nashville to see “for King & Country” at the Grand Ole Opry this fall.

‘For King & Country’ is one of our biggest artists, and “Unsung Hero” may be the biggest movie ever for Christian radio,” said WGTS marketing director and morning show host Jerry Woods. “It made sense for us to go all in on this movie and leverage it to turn viewers into potential listeners for the station. There aren’t a lot of opportunities for partnerships this deep, but we are glad we could be a part of this one.”
