KWND/Springfield, MO (The Wind) promotes Bethanie Shepherd to Production Director and Midday host. Bethanie had served as the overnight host and assistant production director since coming to The Wind in February 2022. The move to Midday replaces Cedric Randle, who departed the station last month.

Wind station manager Kyle Dowden says, “We are very excited for Bethanie. She represents a new generation of radio talent that will carry the industry into new and creative ways to reach people for Christ.”


WGNB/Grand Rapids (89.3 Moody Radio) morning co-host Perry LaHaie has released a new lyric video for hsi latest single “Crashed Into Grace,” from Frontiers USA, an international community of people passionate about inviting Muslims worldwide to follow Jesus. LaHaie is co-host on Perry and Shawna Mornings on Moody Radio Grand Rapids, and is also the host of the nationally syndicated radio feature, Cast Yourself In, broadcast on more than 450 stations and translators across the U.S. To view the “Crashed Into Grace” lyric video go HERE

Christian Radio Business:

Todd Fowler’s Skyline Media of Forest City has acquired Southern Gospel station “The Life FM” 1160 WWQT/Tryon (98.3 W252EJ Hendersonville NC) from The Power Foundation for $200,000. This transaction will result in a duopoly with Fowler’s Full Service Oldies 590 WCAB/Rutherfordton (100.9 W265DW), which he purchased last month for $450,000.

Grande Ronde Christian Radio Association has sold 96.5 K243AA Union OR to Elkhorn Media Group’s KJDY LLC for $3,000. The acquisition was made official upon the closing of the sale, with Elkhorn Media Group’s Country 104.7 KCMB listed as the originating station.


NAB Reports US Representatives Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.) and Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.) have jointly written a letter to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), urging them to investigate the potential consequences of removing AM radio from car dashboards. The two lawmakers have expressed their worries regarding the possible adverse effects of losing access to AM radio, which could significantly impact the public safety infrastructure.

The list of nominees for the 2023 Stellar Awards has been unveiled, featuring DOE, Maverick City Music + Kirk Franklin, Pastor Mike Jr., Tasha Cobbs Leonard, and Tye Tribbett as contenders for Artist of the Year. The Stellar Awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, July 15th, and will be co-hosted by Jonathan McReynolds and Tasha Cobbs Leonard.

WDYN/Chattanooga is commemorating 55 years of broadcasting the Gospel across the Tennessee Valley. The station was founded in 1968, when Buddy and Jack Nichols approached Dr. Lee Roberson, the pastor of a local Church, to help them apply for a non-profit radio license for Tennessee Temple University. The FCC granted the Chattanooga school a license for 10 watts, and the transmitter was installed.

At present, WDYN programming comprises of a blend of Southern Gospel and Sacred music, along with newscasts from the Salem Radio Network. The station features renowned broadcasters such as Dr. Michael Youseff, Dr. Chuck Swindoll, Dr. Charles Stanley, Dr. James Dobson, Dr. David Jeremiah, Dr. Lester Roloff, and Dr. J. Vernon McGee.
