KNWI/Des Moines (Life 107.1) announces the promotion of Mercedes Rich to Assistant Program Director. Mercedes will continue to host afternoons on Life 107.1. In her new role, she will take on expanded responsibilities on the programming side of the station.
“Mercedes is smart, hungry to learn, and passionate about Christian radio and its listeners.” said Taylor Hohulin, Life 107.1 Program Director. “She’s been a key part of this team from day one, and I’m excited to watch her step into this new role!”
Mercedes joined Life 107.1 in March 2025 as Creative Services Director after a 2 year stint at WGTS/Wash DC where she served as the evening show producer.
Prior to joining WGTS in June 2023 Mercedes was with WRVL/Lynchburg (The Journey). She started her radio career in the summer of 2021 as a summer intern at KLRC/Siloam Springs and transitioned from there to the part-time Promotions Assistant at WRVL/Lynchburg (The Journey), and then in April of 2022, was promoted to Full-Time as the Promotions and Production Assistant and the Midday Show Host. Also, in March of 2023, she started voice-tracking for Moody Radio’s Praise and Worship Channel
“I can’t even begin to explain what a whirlwind this last year has been.” said Mercedes. “This team and this work are such a gift from God. I’m so excited to be working on the Programming side of things with Taylor. Can’t wait to see what God has in store as I am able to serve the listeners in this way.”
Encouragement Media Group (EMG) is excited to announce that it will soon launch its Spanish Christian format, Fuzión, on 94.5 KZMJ/Dallas/Fort Worth, pending FCC approval. This 100,000-watt signal covers the entire DFW market along with all of North Texas, reaching 2.5 million Hispanics.

With this addition of KZMJ to the network, Fuzión will broadcast on 18 radio signals across the Southwest, with DFW as its flagship. Fuzión can also be heard on signals in Las Vegas, Southern California, Albuquerque and East Texas.

GSF Media has secured a syndication agreement to serve as radio advocate for Psalm 95 Radio and the National Christian Choir. For nearly 25 years, the weekly 55:00 minute + 26:00-minute programs are well known for their incomparable quality, direction and concert presence captured through recordings in studio and live on stage in concert around the nation.
The show features the music of the National Christian Choir and inspirational commentary built around themes that inspire listeners toward a Christ-centered life. Scripture, teaching and music combine to provide a wonderful devotional. Kathy Bowman is the Director of Music and Ministries. The programs present exclusive feature recordings of the National Christian Choir, centered on the Word of God. The program has gained fame on over 400 stations to date. Placements are being managed through GSF Media, serving as their agency of record and advocate serving syndication.
The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) today announced that the 2026 Marconi Radio Award nomination window is open through May 31. The prestigious NAB Marconi Radio Awards, established in 1989 and named after inventor and Nobel Prize winner Guglielmo Marconi, recognize stations and individuals for their excellence and performance in radio.
The winners of the 2026 Marconi Radio Awards will be announced during a special dinner program brought to you by Xperi, on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, at the Edison Ballroom the night before NAB Show New York held on Oct. 21 – 22.
The Marconi Radio Award finalists are selected by an independent body of broadcasters and will be announced in summer 2026.

Hope Media Group recognized two exceptional leaders during Hope United 2026, held April 14-15, 2026 at its headquarters in Houston. HMG’s President Tim Dukes was honored with the annual Legacy Award and Business Development Director Lisa Hudgins received the annual Founders Award, celebrating their impact, leadership, and commitment to Hope Media Group’s mission to engage people to love Jesus, serve others, and spread hope.

Anchorage based Christian Broadcasting Inc launched its newest station KCBR/Fairbanks (90.7) earlier today. KCBR is 10kw at 1439ft and joins CBI’s The Hope Radio Network which includes 91.7 in Anchorage, 88.9 in Palmer, and on 90.7 in Fairbanks. With the addition of KCBR The Hope Radio Network reaches 70% of the Alaska population.
CBI operates Anchorage stations KAFC, KATB, & KVNT as well as TV stations.
