Fundraising Updates:

WPOS/Holland. OH (Proclaim FM) Spring Sharathon reached goal of $102,300 and ended at $104,573. The station was also able to pay off a station vehicle and to replace the air conditioning unit in the office area.

-WNFR/Sanduskey, MI (90.7 Hope FM) Annual Spring on-air fundraiser, “God Is In Your Story” finished on Thursday, April 27th going over their goal by 11%. “I continue to be blown away at the generosity of our audience even in tough times. We saw God move in miraculous ways more than once, a testament to a staff who believes in the power of prayer.” said General Manager, Brian Smith.


HisAir hears KJIC/Houston has hired Susan O’Donnell as program director. It’s not known if Susan will also do an airshift. 

Susan formerly was PD at KSBJ/Houston and KVNE/Tyler.

 


At 9am this morning Shine.FM/Kankakee, IL took over the programming of WSHW/Frankfort. IN (99.7) under an LMA while awaiting final FCC approval. Stunting with a positive mix of music over the past 60 years, Shine.FM will launch this Monday morning at 5am ET. WSHW is a 50,000 watt signal that covers north central Indiana cities like Lafayette, Kokomo, Marion and the northern suburbs of Indianapolis and fills the gab between Shine.FM signals in Chicago and Indianapolis.

Last month The Olivet Media Group from Olivet Nazarene University, based in Bourbonnais, Illinois, announced an agreement to acquire WHSW from Kaspar Media.

Olivet owns and operates 7 radio stations throughout Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.


WCVO/Columbus (104.9 the River) announced the launch of River Podcasts, a curated list of in-house and partnership podcasts. The River currently produces three in-house podcasts: The River Morning Show Weekly Podcast, The Rivalry Podcast, and The Collide Kids Podcast.

River Podcasts are available everywhere you get podcasts, and on RiverNOW, the River’s YouTube page. 

 


An open house birthday party was hosted by KDNW/Duluth (Life 97.3) on Wednesday night to celebrate its 40th anniversary. The guests were offered refreshments and got to know about the station’s accomplishments during the past four decades. The event was graced by the presence of former and current staff, church, and ministry partners, who gave station tours and participated in the celebration.

Special guest speakers at the event included Dr. Corbin Hoornbeek, President of the University of Northwestern – St. Paul, and Jason Sharp, Vice President of Northwestern Media.

Originally known as KDNW FM 90.5, the station first aired in 1983 before changing to its current frequency of 97.3 in 1990. Life 97.3 is one of 14 stations under the management of the Northwestern Media Network, based in St. Paul and affiliated with the University of Northwestern.


Peter Chagnon has decided to leave the WCLQ/Wausau (89Q). Peter who joined the station in Aug 2021,continues his role as Business Development Manager at WCLQ.

New station KQFR/Moyie Springs, ID (90.7 Cornerstone Family Radio) has gone on the air full-time. FCC granted a license in 2022 to Cornerstone Christian School, a ministry of Bonners Ferry Church. The new stations format is Bible teachings, music and programming for kids.


HisAir enjoyed a visit to Stevens Media Group KEZP/Alexandria, LA (104.3 The Bridge) this week.
