KYTT/Coos Bay, OR (K-LIGHT) celebrates 44 years on the air today Nov 18th. The station is owned by Lighthouse Radio Group.
KYTT began broadcasting in November 1978, with call letters KICR. The station originally broadcast at 98.3 MHz, and was owned by Intercontinental Ministries. The station aired a format consisting of religious programming, beautiful music, and classical music. In 1983, the call letters were changed to KYTT-FM. By 1984, the station was airing entirely religious programming. By 1985, the station’s frequency had been changed to 98.7 MHz where it is today.
KYTT GM Rick Stevens tells HisAir, “Listeners responded en masse to KYTT’s, “two day” pledge drive, fully funding the station for 2023. The party always happens on our birthday. (This year we turned 44) It demonstrates that a station can actually raise an entire year’s support in less than 24 hours, when the event is made into a celebration of God’s faithfulness.”
14 Northwestern Media team members traveled to Dajabon, Dominican Republic to experience what life is like for a child living in extreme poverty, and to visit OneChild Hope Centers that are making a difference.
“The Dajabon region is not located near a big city, so access to this region was not easy,” says Faron Dice, OneChild National Director of Radio and Artist Engagement. “But this team was strong and resilient, and we had such an impactful trip! I continue to be impressed by the character and passion for ministry that I have seen in so many Northwestern Media team members!”
Jason Sharp added, “Partnering with OneChild has been one of the best decisions we have made in the last few years. A world-class organization helping kids in poverty around the world, OneChild also understands who we are and what we are trying to accomplish. It’s a true partnership in every sense of the word.”

A group from MEDIAlliance International recently visited Iceland to teach at a conference.
Ambassador’s Lee Ann Jackson told HisAir, “I’ve just returned from Iceland with Ron Harris and others on the MEDIAlliance team – in awe of God’s majestic handiwork in the beauty that is Iceland and humbled by brothers and sisters in Christ sharing the Gospel in Iceland in churches, through radio and social media. It was a great conference coming alongside fellow Christian communicators to further encourage and equip them to share Christ!”

Curb | Word Entertainment artist Hannah Kerr debuts a trio of holiday songs today (11/18) with the official release of her three-track single, “Joy To The World (It’s Christmas).” Additionally, a playful performance video for Kerr’s reimagined version of “Sleigh Ride” is now available.
On the three-track bundle, Kerr adds her warm alto to a traditional recording of seasonal classic “Joy To The World.” The singer/songwriter’s graceful, piano-led rendition of “Joy To The World (It’s Christmas),” which she arranged with her husband, Jason Earley, includes an original refrain that sends the song out to the lonely, the anxious, and the forgotten. In addition, the multi-track offering features Kerr’s recently released iteration of “Sleigh Ride” and her wistful take on the nostalgic “I’ll Be Home For Christmas.” All three songs were produced by Mark Miller (Sawyer Brown, Casting Crowns).
