KHPE/Eugene (Hope 107.9 & 96.9) closed out their Fall fundraiser early, at 102% of the goal.
Station Manager Scott Michaels told HisAir, “After a slow start, God provided the largest single day of fundraising in the station’s history through His people.”
Ken Lormand—Washington bureau chief for Salem Radio Network’s twin 24/7 news services SRN News and TOWNHALL News—was a featured panelist Thursday night at a Capitol Hill reception sponsored by the National Association of Broadcasters. Lormand addressed members of the U.S. Senate Press Secretaries Association on SRN’s outreach to Senators and Congressmen on issues like Salem’s support for the AM Radio For Every Vehicle Act currently working its way through the House and Senate.

WUBU/South Bend (106,3) drops their R&B format for Christian information as VCY America takes over. VCY America purchased the station from Partnership Radio in July this year for $420,000.

WIHS/Middletown has eliminated the combined General Manager/Chief Engineer position and has created two new positions: General Manager and Chief Engineer. Matt Harper is now serving as Acting General Manager, and Steve Tuzeneu is now serving as Chief Engineer.
Inside Radio format counts for September show Religion and CCM rank #2 and 5 respectively. The religion category has demonstrated the most substantial growth in both annual and 2023 counts, with an increase of 31 stations in the past year and 25 in the current year, resulting in respective growth rates of 1.5% and 1.2%.
While religion leads in terms of total station additions, fifth-ranked CCM has added 30 more stations over the past 12 months, reflecting a 2.2% increase, and 18 in the current year, representing a 1.3% rise.

American Family Association is selling WAXU/Troy AL (91.1) to Radio Training Network (RTN) for $50,000.
HisAir FLASHBACK – Oct 6, 2020 – WCSG/Grand Rapids had their ribbon cutting ceremony last week with the Grand Rapids Chamber for their new facility. Groundbreaking for the expanded broadcast facility funded by listeners was last September 2019. The $5.7 million project will be a remodel of a former church building on the Cornerstone University campus that will provide radio employees—more than 66% who are Cornerstone graduates—with over 12,000 square feet of usable space and promote a refreshed vision for ways to encourage the station’s listener community on-air and in person.
