WSCF/Vero Beach (Christian FM) reached 75% of their Fall Fundraising goal with just 300 givers! The shortage is attributed to the upcoming election, economic pessimism and hurricane Helene relief. In addition to these variables, our broadcast tower was vandalized this summer resulting in $55,000 worth of damage adding to our overall need.

Katie Mieras, Dev. Director said “We had two surprise $5,000 matching gifts given on the last day of the event. We are thankful for our team of on air staff and volunteers who made this event a celebration of what God is doing, even in light of the missed goal. We are hopeful to make up ground with our end of year efforts.”

WGTS/Wash DC President and CEO Kevin Krueger was the host for the celebration of the end of the “Feds Feed Families” government food drive hosted at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) headquarters in Washington, D.C.  For the campaign, different departments of the government compete to see which one can collect the most food.  This year, the Department of Defense won the competition by collecting almost 6 million pounds of food.  The entire food drive collected close to 12 million pounds for needy families.

At the celebration, Krueger served as the master of ceremonies.  He introduced special guests, including  USDA Deputy Secretary Xochitl Torres Small, Navy Command Master Chief Mario Rivers, Office of Personnel Management Chief Management Officer Katie Malague, and others.

“It was an honor to serve in this way; to support the work being done to help families needing food assistance. Congratulations to all on the successful food drive! And it is always a pleasure to hear the stories of WGTS listeners everywhere we go. Face-to-face conversations bring about deep connections that last,” says WGTS CEO Kevin Krueger.

Paul Pitts was elected President of the Southern Gospel Promoters Association during their annual meeting held at the Ramsey Hotel in Pigeon Forge, TN last week. The Southern Gospel Promoters Association organized to help, encourage, and provide information to all member Concert Promoters and to work as a unified body to make a greater success of the concert arena. Members of the association come together during the week of the National Quartet Convention to conduct business complete with keynote speakers and to showcase up and coming artists.
