Israel Houghton and Tasha Cobbs Leonard will be part of the 2026 GRAMMY Awards Premiere Ceremony®, live from Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 1st. The ceremony’s opening number will feature performances by current nominees Houghton, Grace Potter, Lila Iké, Maggie Rose, and Trombone Shorty.
Houghton is nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for Coritos Vol. 1 (with Israel & New Breed). A Spanish-language worship project, the album brings together artists from seven countries, including Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, Miel San Marcos, Marcos Witt, and Evan Craft. The nomination marks a milestone as the first Spanish-language album ever recognized in this category, celebrating unity, faith, and Latin heritage.

James Mott has been promoted to Operations Director at WayFM/Huntsville (Hope Media Group.) James has been with the station 5 years.
James told HisAir, “Working for WayFM, now Hope Media Group, has been an extremely rewarding experience over the past 5 years. I would like to thank Brent Sears for his friendship and mentorship over my time with HMG and for taking a chance on a punk from South Louisiana. I would also like to thank Brian Driver, Jim Marshall, Tim Dukes, and Matt Hahn for leading well in their respective roles in our region over the years as well as countless others for pouring into myself and our organization. Lastly, I would like to recognize the work that the Huntsville office puts in on a daily basis. Suzanne Poffenberger, Diana Henry, and Carlin Jones make Huntsville, and the Alabama markets as a whole, better. Looking forward to what comes next for WayFM/Huntsville!”

It seems surreal to many, but today all of the remaining Salem music stations signed off and said goodbye to their listeners for good. For the Christian Radio industry the impact of these 7 stations going away is huge. It’s like a death in the family (x’s 7). Yes, Christian music continues on these stations from K-LOVE and Air1, but it won’t be the same. Business is business and sometimes it means big changes. Complete story HERE
