EMF is buying three stations from Entercom as the company completes its merger with CBS Radio. The stations are KSWD/Los Angeles (100.3 The Sound), KOOQ/San Diego, and WGGY/Wilkes Barre (Froggy 101). Entercom President/CEO David Field issued the following statement, “We have made great progress towards the completion of our merger with CBS Radio, and this agreement with EMF brings us one step closer to the finish line.
KLYT/Albuquerque (Star 88) & KNKT/Albuquerque ups Andrew Banks to fulltime. Duties will include on air work, producing Scott Richards Live, overseeing KNKT & Star 88 Social media strategies and more.
1430 AM WGFS Covington (Southeast Atlanta) 1430 has flipped to a Holy Hip-Hop format as “1430 The King.”

At 2:20pm Eastern today this year’s National EAS Test is scheduled. FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) will administer the test, with cooperation from the FCC and the National Weather Service. FEMA Says the purpose is To ensure that the Emergency Alert System remains an effective means of warning the public about emergencies. After the test, stations must file “ETRS Form 2. Stations in specific hurricane areas are exempt from the test today.
