VP Operations/VP/GM of the Dallas Salem cluster John Peroyea has resigned. This includes stations KLTY-FM, KWRD-FM, KSKY-AM, KTNO-AM and KEXB-AM. John says, “I have loved working with Salem Communications for over 17 years in Dallas, Texas. After a fairly long period including much thought, consideration and prayer my family and I decided to begin a new chapter in our lives, and today I officially resigned my position as Regional Vice President and General Manager of our Dallas radio stations.” John will serve as a Consultant for KLTY reporting directly to David Santrella, Salem’s President of Broadcast Media.
KLOVE has named a new morning co-host. Skip Mahaffey will join Amy Baumann and Mike Kanklefritz in October. He replaces Craig West who left KLOVE in May to relocate to Tulsa for full-time missionary work with his wife. Mahaffey was last on the air at mainstream Country KPLX/Dallas (99.5 The Wolf).
Last week at CMB’s Momentum Conference in Orlando, Finney Media President Chuck Finney highlighted the biggest reason that listeners tune in to Christian music and music/talk stations: “People come to grow spiritually. 80% of our survey respondents indicated it’s a main reason they listen to Christian radio.
