After a five year hiatus, Raging Storm Records aims to return to the independent music scene. Originally founded in 2005, the label abruptly closed it’s doors in 2012, citing personal and family reasons. “It was always our intention to operate as a service first, God-honoring ministry” says Raging Storm founder Jason Scannell. “Shutting down hurt, but where we were personally, it was the right thing to do.” Previous releases from Raging Storm covered a diverse array of rock-based genres. Jason’s wife of 25 years and Raging Storm co-founder, affectionately dubbed “Mama Storm” by one of their earlier bands, describes their music as ranging from “coffee shop acoustic to death metal.” They simply seek to make honest and beautiful music.
The term “ministry” implies “service” and the experienced leadership team at Raging Storm seeks to serve and equip Christian musicians with innovative tools to help them achieve a positive balance between ministry and family life. Serving bands is the passion and the goal of everyone at Raging Storm Records.
