Singing News Radio announced this week that their weekend show “The Singing News Top 10 Countdown Show” hosted by Jeff Steele (at left) now has 100 affiliates each weekend airing the two hour countdown. Combined with Front Porch Fellowship (hosted by Joe Mullins) Singing News Radio now has in excess of 300 stations airing their traditional Christian music programs every weekend.
WNZR/Mt Vernon, a broadcast ministry of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, recently completed a week of live broadcasts at the annual Knox County Fair. WNZR and MVNU’s Office of Admissions partnered with underwriting partners Kokosing Construction and A+ Autobrokers to purchase four hogs at the Junior Fair Livestock Sale. WNZR Station Manager Marcy Rinehart and Morning Thing co-host Jenna Potts (pictured at right) sat in the auction ring with other local buyers to place bids and purchased 4 hogs from local youth.
WNZR listeners had the opportunity throughout the week of the fair to sign up to win the meat from the hogs purchased by the bidding team. Four lucky winners received 150 lbs. of cuts including sausage, ham, bacon, chops and ribs.
Black River Christian artist Hannah Kerr has the most added song at Christian Radio this week. More than 20 stations added the new single “Warrior”. “I’m so excited for people to hear this song because when I think about what a warrior is, to me a warrior really can be anyone and everyone,” shares Kerr on her new single. “We all face seasons of hardship and we all have to keep the hope alive and fight through the struggles we go through in this life. To me, a mom, a student, or a soldier fighting for our country is a warrior. Someone fighting against an illness or a disease is a warrior. The list could go on and on. My hope is that listeners are inspired by this song and remember that in the midst of what we are facing, we have a God who is always fighting for us.” Watch the Warrior video here.
