EMF grows again as they grab nine stations from Flinn Broadcasting and related companies.  In a $3.4 million deal which includes the stations  WXRA/Inglis, FL (99.3); WKIF/Holly Springs, MS (96.5); WKWR/Key West, FL (90.1); WQJB/State College, MS (104.5); WKGF/Grenada, MS (101.3); WKFF/Sardis, MS (102.1); WBZS/Shawsville, VA (102.5); KWLR/Bigelow, AR (96.9); and KLSK/Great Falls, MT (100.3).

Most of the stations are already airing KLOVE programming with the exception of WBZS.  Included in the deal is a tower site in Dermott, AR used by WLRK/Greenville, MS.


Chocolate and God, a sixty second feature for radio geared toward women is now airing in New Zealand and Australia.  Star Radio Network and Rehma Radio Network New Zealand just added Chocolate and God covering the country.  Syndicated radio host Sussie Holt from Australia is the voice for Chocolate and God for New Zealand, Australia and the UK.  Janet Scott is the voice for Chocolate and God in North America.  Janet Scott is the founder of Chocolate and God.  If you have an interest in this feature for your station, email bill@vidarecreative.com.


WHCB/Bristol, TN (The Blessing 91.5FM ) has named J. Mike Cox Program Director. According to Dr. Kenneth Hill, General Manager, “WHCB is a unique station with a need for a program director that has an understanding of the people who listen to and support this station. J. Mike Cox will do a great job for us.” Cox began volunteering for WHCB in 1997 while a student at King University and became an employee with WHCB in 1999 as a production assistant.  “Heralding CHRIST’s Blessings has been a focus of WHCB’s ministry for over 35 years. I am simultaneously humbled and excited at this new challenge to help lead the ministry in the future.”, said Cox when asked about his view of the change in positions.


Professional members of the GMA will soon be invited to vote in the first round ballot for the 51st Annual GMA Dove Awards. This round of voting will determine the nominees. To be eligible to vote, they must be an active Professional member by Friday, July 10.

Community Broadcasting Foundation of Australia names Jo Curtin as the new Chief Executive Officer replacing Ian Stanistreet who has retired.

President of the CBF, Ian Hamm says “Jo is the ideal person to lead the CBF at this time of unprecedented challenges and opportunities for the sector. She has an exceptional understanding  of community broadcasting, having spent two decades in leadership roles within the sector.”
