WCLQ/Wausau (89Q) is running a two-week Bible Quiz giving listeners another “Stay-At-Home” activity. Listeners have a chance to win groceries and daily 89Q prizes (shirts, cups, etc) for participating. Over 45 teams called in on the first day. The goal is to give families an opportunity to do something together (at home) while getting into their Bibles. General Manager Coy Sawyer says, “not only does this give listeners something to look forward to each day (twice per day) and win some groceries and prizes, but we hope parents will launch into deeper things in the Bible as their children ask about the answers. It’s been fun to see the phones go crazy. Busy phones mean the listeners are getting into their Bibles.”

89Q also ran over 450 TV ads between April 7 and April 19 encouraging Stevens Point-Wausau market viewers during this difficult time. The message was simple – “He’s got the whole world in His Hands”

WEEC/Dayton (HOPE 100.7) and WFCJ (93.7 The LIGHT) focused on encouraging and praying with their listeners during this pandemic and held a simulcast for their Day of HOPE Monday April 13th. In addition WEEC/WFCJ PD Daryl Pierce tells HisAir, “93.7 The LIGHT a Teaching/Preaching ministry has been including links at www.937thelight.com to watch a virtual church but we also know not  everyone has the technology required. We are airing a different local church service on 93.7 The LIGHT, every Sunday at 11am, until we’re allowed to go back to our churches.”

WAFJ/Augusta station manager Steve Swanson checks in with HisAir, “We gathered with listeners to pray for local healthcare workers in  Augusta’s Medical District . We aired prayers and music and asked those who came to use their flashers as a visible sign of sharing the prayers together. God moved mightily! It was an amazing night!”

TWR (also known as Trans World Radio) announces that its complement of languages and dialects has grown to a total of more than 275.

Ever since its first broadcasts in French, Spanish and English 66 years ago, TWR has worked to fulfill Christ’s mandate to make disciples of all nations by sharing the gospel in the listeners’ own languages. Lots of feedback like this 2019 text message from a listener in Romania, once locked behind the Iron Curtain, attests to the importance of Bible study in one’s heart language.

“This is why TWR places so much importance on continuing to expand its ministry into more language”, TWR President Lauren Libby said. He pointed to TWR’s calling: to reach the world for Christ by mass media so that lasting fruit is produced.
