National Religious Broadcasters is drawing attention to the censorship of Christian and conservative speech online by tech companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Google and Apple by launching a new initiative, Internet Freedom Watch, the association of Christian communicators announced (Dec. 7). In a move applauded by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and a former Federal Communications Commission commissioner, NRB announced a new website – InternetFreedomWatch.org – to document cases of internet censorship, including Twitter’s takedown of an ad by Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tennessee) in October and Facebook removing Gov. Mike Huckabee’s post supporting Chick-fil-A in 2012. NRB has published a chart with more than 30 instances of internet censorship to illustrate the problem.
Best-selling author and radio talk show host Larry Elder will speak at Proclaim 18, the NRB International Christian Media Convention that will be held February 27-March 2, 2018, in Nashville.
