WMSL/Athens, GA (88.9 the Reach) has been sold to Radio Training Network for $600,000. The seller Prince Educational Media announced last month it was in negotiations to sell the station. WMSL is a Class C3. The Now Newsletter reports RTN agrees to continue airing its Sunday morning worship service at no cost for at least the next seven years. RTN also assumes the underwriting agreements signed by Prince.
Former WAY FM/Huntsville Community Impact Director Audree Johnson has joined Oakwood University station WJOU/Huntsville (Praise 90.1) as General Manager. Johnson is a graduate of Oakwood University where she studied communication in the mid-1990’s . Aubree says, “I want it to be a household name,” she said. “Even though they may be listening in Dubai, I want them to be like, ‘That’s my station.'”
WAWZ/New York (Star 99.1) Promotions Department Courtney Arbitell announces she will be leaving the station at the end of December. A search has started for a replacement. Check the opening here.
