news-iconSalem Media Group announced today that Gregg Stiansen has been appointed as General Manager for its Philadelphia cluster of radio stations (WFIL-AM and WNTP-AM). Stiansen succeeds Russ Whitnah who retires effective December 31, 2016. Prior to joining Salem, Stiansen’s career has spanned over 34 years in management roles with Nassau Media, Nassau Broadcasting, Connoisseur Media, and Keystone Broadcasting.

Senior Vice President, Allen Power, commented: “Out of an excellent field of men and women interested in this opportunity, we are convinced Gregg has the experience and background we need for this important market.” Salem Vice President of Operations, David Ruleman, stated, “Gregg will provide the kind of leadership that will continue to grow the Salem Philadelphia radio stations to their full potential.”

WFFH/Nashville (94 FM the Fish) recently encouraged listeners to provide meals to the homeless at Nashville Rescue Mission. The effort surpassed the goal of 18,000 meals raising over $43,000 and over 19,000 meals in only 16 hours. Word Records artist Dave Frey from Sidewalk Prophets joined the on air team in the final hours and sang to the homeless men at the mission at the conclusion of the event. Fair Trade recording artist, Jasmine Murray, joined the effort and sang for the Mission men.
