At KSBJ/Houston Sterling Tarrant has been promoted to Director, Creative Audio Services from Production Director for KSBJ only. Sterling has been with KSBJ 10 years and his new position will oversee all audio messaging for KSBJ, NGEN, and other Creative Audio Content creation.

On WGTS/Wash DC afternoon hosts Johnny & Stacey Stone announced weekend personality Claude Jennings will join them on the air. Claude joined WGTS as an intern in 2001 and is also currently the producer of the weekly Saturday morning program “Breakaway” on WGTS.

The NOW Newsletter reports Spanish-language Christian KJJG-LP South Houston/92.5 operated by Iglesia Centro de Liberacion has been fined $5k by the FCC. A different Spanish-language Christian operator filed a petition to deny the move to a new site back in early 2017, and in its followup it said the fact that Iglesia Centro removed the antenna “implicitly admitted its guilt to the charge of premature construction.” In the end, KJJG-LP obtains permission for the new location. The violation lasted only about three weeks but the “Premature construction” of a transmitter site will cost the LPFM $5,000.
