WBGL/Champaign Director of Development Brian Miller exits the station after 9 years of service. Brian, who has taken a position with software company Blackbaud told HisAir, “I will be working with faith based organizations and how they can best utilize that software, just like we had at WBGL.”
WFAX/Falls Church, VA has a new program airing Sundays. Biblical teaching from Archbishop Foley Beach on “A Word from the Lord,” will air at 9:30am & 9:30pm.
Moody Radio will present Treasured Moments in Black History – Feb. 1-29, 2020 (These two-minute daily short features showcase the legacy of African American Christians in American history.)
HisAir joins family and friends in mourning the loss of Cindy Garrett Swanson over the weekend. Cindy battled leukemia and passed due to complications from her bone marrow transplant in October. Cindy was morning co-host/news director at WQFL/Rockford from 1981-2010. Former WQFL co-worker Greg Saunders says, “On air, her morning news, banter, and infectious laughter was a HUGE part of what made WQFL & WGSL a joy to listen to for so many years. Off air, her love and devotion to her Saviour and dear family was an inspiration to her friends and co-workers alike.”
Eugene Novacek, who founded broadcast technology company ENCO and led it for decades, has died. He was 61. ENCO is now based in Southfield, Mich., but began in St. Louis is 1983 by providing computer-based process control for critical industrial applications.
