KNWI/Des Moines (Life 107.1) held a food drive at the for King and Country’s Little Drummer Boy Concert held in the Wells Fargo Arena on December 20th . Life 107.1 listeners donated a total of 1,311 food items and $1,115.46 for the Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) Food Pantry Network. It was “truly a remarkable show of support,” said Shoshana Salowitz, DMARC’s Community Outreach and Volunteer Manager.
Life 107.1’s Listener Engagement Director Jen Green says, “We asked for peanut butter, healthy cereal, and healthy canned goods and that’s exactly what hundreds of our listeners brought by the bagful to the concert. Their generosity towards others in our community never ceases to amaze me. We’re thankful for the opportunity to partner with DMARC to help food insufficient families during these cold winter months.”
At KGBI/Omaha station manager Suzanne Happs says she will also assume programming duties. A search for a PD will resume later this year.

CORRECTION: Yesterday we mistakenly reported the new Christian Radio station KIRS. The city is actually Stockton, MO. The station (KRWP/Stockton 107.7) went dark one year ago. “The call letters will be changed from KRWP to KIRS, Christian Information Radio for Stockton.
