Family Health Checkup Reaches 1,000 Markets

The “Family Health Checkup” daily one-minute radio program has added its 1,000th market to its broadcast network.

The “Family Health Checkup,” radio feature is produced by Samaritan Ministries International a leading health care sharing ministry, surpassed the 1,000 markets in June and continues to add listeners nationwide. Doug Chamberlain, host and producer of “Family Health Checkup,” offers ordinary listeners simple tips every man, woman and child can apply.

In contrast to the often grim public health reports dominating today’s news, Family Health Checkup provides practical insights on nutrition, fitness, seasonal health, safety, kids’ health and much more. Preventive care is usually a more complete and cost-effective approach to staying healthy. That’s why each “Family Health Checkup” broadcast empowers listeners with practical advice, from wiping the germs off the surface of a smartphone to reminding listeners that their bodies crave four to eight servings of vegetables daily—and seven to eight hours of sleep each night.

One reason the 60-second radio program is palatable is that its digestible tips are delivered in guiltless, bite-sized chunks.

“Family Health Checkup” is one of many ways Samaritan Ministries International supports families and encourages them to take ownership of their health care.

Through this effective, God-honoring ministry, more than 82,000 households with over a quarter of a million Samaritan Ministries members are sharing approximately $30 million in health care needs person to person each month. In fact, over the past 25 years, Samaritan Ministries members have shared more than $1.8 billion in health care needs.
