EMF to Purchase Salem Stations

HisAir has learned today that EMF has agreed to purchase Salem stations WFFH/Nashville (94 FM The Fish) and KAIM/Honolulu (95.5 The Fish). The deal also includes Nashville area stations WBOZ/Woodbury, TN (104.9) and WFFI/Kingston Springs, TN (93.7) both simulcast WFFH.

WFFH is licensed to Smyrna, TN (Class A 3200 watts at 453 ft). While KAIM is a Class C 100kw at 1854 ft.

The selling price is reported at $7 mil. EMF already owns WLVU/Nashville and programs K-LOVE.

In July 2012, Cumulus announced it would sell WRQQ to Educational Media Foundation, as part of a larger deal that resulted in a facility swap in Mobile, Alabama. The groups  implemented a local marketing agreement and shortly after the call letters were changed to WLVU. The LMA was in place while the sale of the station from Cumulus to EMF was pending. The sale was closed on April 16, 2013, as the station was reclassified as non-commercial educational.

The deal is expected to close by June this year. More details on the transaction are coming.
