Dozens of Christian radio stations across the country have already jumped on board for a project to share audio, graphics and logistical support to mount an unprecedented response to the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. The cooperation and spirit of teamwork arose from the launch of the #ENCW – Easy Never Changed the World project.
Stations from Illinois, Florida, California and several other states attended the video conference, chaired by Brian Sanders, Executive Vice President of Positive Alternative Radio.
“This isn’t about me or PAR,” Sanders told the group. “This is about us all coming together to do something to help these people in Texas.”
Through the #ENCW Project, stations can access customizable graphics, audio, show prep and all the details needed to launch a campaign in support of ministries providing flood relief, such as God’s Pit Crew and Convoy of Hope. Late Monday, PAR made digital assets available to stations via the DearChristianRadio.Com website.
Advocace´ Media, LLC provided a toolkit for stations from its client, God’s Pit Crew. I5810 Media, which is hosting several fundraisers for flood relief this week, provided messaging points to help stations mount their own efforts. The Amen Prayer App provided a special link to an area where “Prayers4Houston” can be added and accessed. Convoy of Hope provided information on its work in the area, as well as a social media banner stations can use.
“We have only just begun. We anticipate more assets, such as audio, pictures and video from Houston, and great ideas on how to engage our audiences in helping hurricane victims to be added as we move forward,” Sanders said.
Stations that wish to join the effort to help Hurricane Harvey victims can visit www.dearchristianradio.com to view the list of resources and links to digital assets, Sanders said.
The #ENCW Project is designed to get Christian radio and ministries to come together to impact 1 billion lives in 5 years. It is open to any station or ministry willing to commit to the goal and providing regular updates on its efforts to help reach it, Sanders explained. To join – stations and organizations need only need to complete a form at: https://dearchristianradio.com/theproject/join/
While no one could anticipate a hurricane, Sanders said the devastation brought on by Harvey made it clear the time to start working together was at hand.
“This is a God thing,” Sanders said. “The timing of the #ENCW Project could be more perfect to help meet the real needs of Hurricane Harvey.”
