KBMQ/Monroe (88.7 The Cross) successfully finished their Fall Fundraiser early, achieving 103% of their goal. Calculations are still happening, but thanks to their ministry partnership with Feed The Hungry — hundreds of families in TX and FL, impacted by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma, will receive essential supplies to help as they work to recover, and restore their lives.
WMSL/Athens (88.9 The Reach) will celebrate its 30th year of broadcasting with a “30 FOR 30 Reach Concert and Event Series” kicking off with multiple Dove award winner Brandon Heath . WMSL first signed on in December 1987 and covers Athens and northeast Georgia.
TWR director for Cuba Alberto Gonzales issued the following statement :
“We were without power and phone service all the week since last Friday morning. I thank God, my whole family is safe and doing well. We have not had any damages to the office and our home. We only had very strong winds, but almost no rain. Havana suffered with floods, but just in areas far from ours.” From the limited reports we’ve received so far, we know that a church that has been active in TWR’s ministry has lost their roof completely. Many people lost their homes. The north shore of the island had a lot of destruction.
“Thank for your prayers and concern. I guess many Cubans will face difficulties in the days to come with provisions and materials to rebuild their houses. Churches are trying to help and providing meals for the people. As you can imagine, many listeners have been affected, but I haven’t had ways to call them or visit at the moment. These have been very frustrating and difficult days, trying to know about the people we know and love, but just praying and trusting in the Lord.”
Power and phone service returned to the office in Cuba late Thursday (September 14) afternoon. “Praise the Lord. I was afraid it would take more time. God has been good to us!!!”
