Fall Fundraising Recap:

WPOZ/Orlando (Z88.3) reports it finished their fundraiser Thursday night, a whole day early, and the gifts just keep rolling in.

But that isn’t the miracle— The miracle – and it IS a miracle— is that VP/Director of Operations Dean O’Neal was on the air for the last few hours as The Z hit the goal.  As you may remember Dean had been diagnosed with PLS, a slower second cousin to ALS and had lost his ability to speak clearly. This relegated him to a desk rather than doing what he loves most – being on the air.

WPOZ Pres/Founder Jim Hoge says, “Over the past year and after a minor heart procedure, we watched in amazement as Dean’s diction and clarity slowly improved.  It improved well enough that he felt comfortable doing severe weather coverage as needed … and finally he decided to go on-air and help push us over Thursday evening.  And boy, did the listeners respond!  We are not sure if the procedure was in anyway related to his recovery, but we know that our God works in mysterious ways and we giving Him all the glory and praise in returning this man of Faith to our airways. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!”

At WPHN/Gaylord, MI (The Promise) reports it had an incredible Fall Days of Promise going up and over the goal for their operational needs by the end of day 2. Launching a fresh vision on day 3 to meet the needs of the next generation, over $25,000 in seed money came in.

Executive Director Pat Scott said “Our young people do not consume information and music the way we did in the past and The Promise FM needs to be equipped to meet them where they are. The Lord has been showing us how we can stay current with the next generation through digital means. Our young people are all over this: streaming online through multiple devices and platforms. Everything we see happening in the dashboard of the automobiles today, confirms where the future is heading. Jeremiah 29:11 has laid out a clear path for us: to give us a “Hope and a Future.”
