2022 GMA Dove Award Winners
Winners in the 53rd Annual GMA Dove Awards were announced last night as the show aired exclusively on TBN and was simulcast on SiriusXM The Message. Since 1969 the GMA Dove Awards has honored outstanding achievements and excellence in Christian Music.
Capitol Christian Music Group (Capitol CMG) earned 22 Dove Award wins, representing honorees in 15 different categories, including Anne Wilson’s two wins for New Artist of the Year and Pop Contemporary Song of the Year (“My Jesus”), and Jeff Pardo’s win for Producer of the Year. Winners represent all of Capitol CMG’s entities including Capitol CMG Label Group, Commercial Partnerships, & Capitol CMG Publishing.

The Provident Entertainment family of artists, labels, films, songwriters, and publishers won 21 GMA Dove Awards during the 53rd Annual GMA Dove Awards.
The wins came from across several Provident Entertainment entities – Provident Label Group, RCA Inspiration, Distribution, Films, and Essential Music Publishing. RCAI artist DOE walked away with multiple awards, as did songwriter and producer Jason Ingram.
Provident Entertainment went into the awards show with multiple nominations in 22 categories. Top nominations included Matthew West with seven, six for producer and songwriter Jonathan Smith, five noms for Chris Brown and Steven Furtick of Elevation Worship, and four for breakout artist DOE, including New Artist of the Year. Zach Williams was nominated for Artist of the Year, while breakout artist Ryan Ellis was for New Artist of the Year.
It was a big night for Fair Trade artist Phil Wickham who won three GMA Dove Awards. Worship Recorded Song of the Year (Hymn of Heaven), Worship Album of the Year (Hymn Of Heaven), and Songwriter of the Year – Artist.
Fair Trade artist CeCe Winans wins two GMA Dove Awards this year, Artist of the Year & Song of the Year (Believe For It).
Curb Word artists for King & Country grabbed the Doves for Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year (What Are We Waiting For?) and Long Form Video of the Year (What Are We Waiting For? | The Worldwide Special) and Short Form Music Video of the Year (Concept) (RELATE).
Daywind Music Group artists and songwriters won two Dove Awards and participated in performances during the evening. Dove Award winners included Bluegrass/Country/Roots Song of the Year for “In The Sweet By and By” by Dolly Parton with Larry Cordle, Carl Jackson, Jerry Salley, and Bradley Walker. Daywind proudly congratulates A&R and Creative Director of Billy Blue Records, Jerry Salley, for his incredible work producing the song as well as the album Country Faith Bluegrass. The song was previously recognized with two Bluegrass Music Awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association earlier this month.
New Day Records’ artist, The Sound, took home their very first Dove Award for the Bluegrass/Country/Roots Album of the Year for God Is Real. Levi Mills delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech during the Dove Awards, and the group’s acoustic pre-show awards performance was aired to Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena a few minutes later to the capacity crowd.
1st time co-host Chris Tomlin, with Erica Campbell, was honored with the 28th Dove award of his career. Tomlin received his Dove award in the Christmas/Special Event Album of the Year category for his 2021 Christmas album, Emmanuel: Christmas Songs of Worship.
An encore presentation of the GMA Dove Awards will be on October 28th, 2022, at 8:00p.m. ET and 10:00p.m. ET.
The theme for this year’s awards was Sound Of Heaven.
