Adam McCain is the new General Manager of WCQR/Gray, TN. Brian Sanders, Executive VP of PAR, said, “We are excited about the future of WCQR under Adam’s leadership. He’s been a part of PAR for 7 years. He eats, breathes and sleeps the mission and vision. He’s a natural leader. We are thankful to have Adam as the GM of WCQR.”

Flowing Streams has announced the launching of PRAZOR, a digital Christian media platform. PRAZOR was announced last week at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville. “PRAZOR is the fulfillment of a ten year vision”, says Flowing Streams CEO, Rick Wiles. “It will completely revolutionize Christian media throughout the world with creatively curated audio and video content, including music, teaching and talk programming.”
The first phase of PRAZOR, includes the launching of the app at I-Tunes and Google Play stores. Once downloaded, PRAZOR distributes 48 individually curated music streams of various genres, such as pop, rock, worship, inspirational, urban, and southern gospel. PRAZOR is listener supported, however, content access is completely free to the public. Users may simply download and begin listening.
Salem has announced Larry Elder will join its lineup in the 6pm to 9pm ET day part beginning Monday, April 4th. Larry Elder will be taking the place Hugh Hewitt who will be moving to mornings on that same day.
For nearly 20 years, “The Sage from South Central” aired his afternoon drive radio program on KABC/Los Angeles. He was previously syndicated nationally on the ABC Radio Network from 2002 to 2007. Last year Larry moved to Salem’s AM 870 The Answer in Los Angeles, where he airs nightly 9-11pm. His new program will move up into the 6-9pm PT slot in Los Angeles.
Salem Radio Network Senior VP Phil Boyce recalls adding Larry to his lineup at WABC/New York, and listeners could not get enough. “Larry is truly a unique and needed voice in this country, and I can’t think of a better choice to fill the valuable Hugh Hewitt slot,” said Mr. Boyce. “Listeners will be riveted to his take on the day’s news, and his insights into the most important issues of our day he will bring them back for appointment listening,” added Mr. Boyce.
According to the latest Nielsen “State of The Media” report released Thursday radio reaches now reaches more Americans every week than any other platform, and that includes nearly every demo. Nielsen says 93% of adult consumers over the age of 18 use radio on a weekly basis. Check out the full report from Nielsen here.
Lanser Broadcasting/Grand Rapids is partnering with the Flint Grassroots Initiative to help bring water and supplies to families in Flint, Michigan. They have started collection points for water this week that will be on going with “Care Teams” going over on Saturday’s each month to distribute water and hygiene kits to those in need. The teams are assembled from sister stations WJQK & WPNW. Program Director Ace McKay says, “After seeing it first hand, the need is greater than we thought and there are hurting families looking for hope and we are committing to helping them until a solution is found.”
Congratulations to Sparrow artist Kari Jobe and husband Cody Carnes on the birth of their son, Canyon Morrison Caine Carnes. Baby Carnes was born Thursday, February 18th and was 9 pounds 13 ounces & 22.5″ tall.
