WGTS Fills Afternoon Show Opening

WGTS /Wash DC announces that morning drive co-host Summer Shepherd is moving to lead host of afternoon drive.

Summer joined WGTS in Feb 2023 joining the morning show with host Jerry Woods.

“For a decade afternoons were my home, at a variety of stations. I’m excited to revisit that slot and craft something fresh that connects with this amazing community of listeners, reminding them that they’re loved and not alone. I also look forward to sleeping in a bit. Not gonna lie,” said Shepherd.

Shepherd has nearly 15 years of radio experience. Previously to WGTS she was afternoon host at WNWC/Madison (Life 102.5) for  7 years.

WGTS program director Brennan Wimbish, shared, “Summer has a unique ability to connect with listeners in a meaningful faith-filled way. I’m excited to see her bring that same encouragement and presence to our afternoon drive listeners.”

Summer replaces John Nolan in afternoons who has exited the station.

Shepherd will begin afternoons March 23rd. The search for a morning show co-host is in progress.
