UCB/Canada Flight Fest

UCB/Canada welcomed over 7,000 locals for Flight Fest – a Canadian aviation event, concert, and community-wide worship service to enjoy the free weekend affair filled with static aircraft displays, vintage planes, children’s activities, and live music. The “Hope is in the Air” themed event was a free weekend of family-filled fun where attendees braved the hottest weekend of the summer to attend the two-day event on last August 6th & 7th.

Event organizers raised $150,000 dollars in sponsorship to make the event free. Donations of over $90,000 were distributed amongst three national charities: UCB Canada, Hope Air, and Mission Aviation Fellowship as well as five local charities. In addition, a free-will offering was collected and donated to the local charity, Loads of Love, who are helping Ukrainian Refugee efforts.

On Saturday, the community came out to see Dan Bremnes, who started off the evening concert sharing the stage with Canadian Eagles Original Tribute Band – Hotel California, and Canadian Country Artist, Michelle Wright. On Sunday, Canadian Christian artist and six-time Convenant Award winner, Brooke Nicholls, took the stage to close the weekend in praise.

“It was so exciting to see the community enjoying themselves and especially seeing the church break down barriers by coming together in unity for the first time in two years! It was beautiful to see. The people just kept coming and coming!” said Crystal Dama, UCB’s 89.3 Community Promotions Specialist.
