NRB Station Of The Year!

The National Religious Broadcasters Association (NRB) has recognized Salem Media Group’s WMCA/New York (570) as 2023 Radio Station of the Year. This prestigious award was presented to the station as part of the 2023 Special Service and Media Awards ceremony, which also recognized other outstanding Christian programs and broadcasters.

WMCA has been broadcasting a Christian talk and teaching format since September 16, 1989. Initially, the station identified itself as “New York’s Christian Radio,” but it later changed to “New York’s Inspiring Talk.” In the early 1990s, the station’s tagline was “Together, we’re sharing the moments of your day on WMCA… New York!”

Also, the call-in program “New Life Live” was named Radio Program of the Year. Steve Arterburn and guest hosts Dr. Jill Hubbard, Dr. Sheri Keffer, Becky Brown, Dr. Alice Benton, Chris Williams, Dr. Jacqui Mack-Harris and Marc Cameron address issues concerning spiritual, emotional, and relational health.

Byron Tyler of the Bott Radio Network received the Radio Impact Award. Tyler hosts Mid-South View Point, a public affairs program addressing concerns that are vital to the Christian community in the Mid-South. This show is produced by Bott Radio Network in Memphis.

These awards demonstrate the exceptional quality and impact of Christian media in advancing the Gospel and Christian communications.

NRB President/CEO Troy Miller praised the winners for their excellence and effectiveness in Christian broadcasting. The awards will be presented at the 2023 NRB International Christian Media Convention, which will take place from May 22-25, 2023, at the Orlando World Center Marriott. All award recipients will be recognized and celebrated during this event.
