Northwestern Media Stations Unite To Sponsor Over 1100 Children

In an unprecedented event of its kind, all Northwestern Media Radio Stations combined efforts to simultaneously focus on child sponsorship January 17-19, 2024. Each station hosted their own event with  local air talent and complete localization to share how Child Sponsorship can change a child’s life. The event resulted in a combined over 1100 new Child Champions (Child Sponsors) for the ministry, OneChild.

“I’ve been involved in radio and network sponsorship drives for over 20 years,” says Faron Dice from OneChild, “But I have never seen anything like this. This was not a networkwide feed to all the stations. Instead, this event featured 14 simultaneous local events. The complexity of the technology and engineering to pull this off was stunning, and awesome. Kudos to Northwestern Media! I am so thankful for the efforts to help these children in poverty!”

According to Jason Sharp, VP of Media/University of Northwestern, “We want OneChild to reach kids and communities. OneChild wants Northwestern to be local, real, and relevant. It’s a true partnership — only way to describe it!”
