Northwestern Media Makes Huge Aquisition
Big news today in Christian Radio as it was announced that University of Northwestern/Northwestern Media has entered into an asset purchase agreement to purchase New Life Media from the Illinois District Council of Assemblies of God.
The deal would include 13 full power stations and 7 translators. Stations include WBGL/Champaign, and WCIC/Peoria.
“New Life Media has been serving their listeners well for 46 years and we are extremely grateful for this opportunity,” said Jason Sharp, Sr. VP for Media at Northwestern. “We look forward to working together and continuing their effort in reaching people for Christ throughout the Midwest.”
“Northwestern Media has a tremendous reputation in the industry, and we are thrilled that the longstanding ministry in these markets will continue forward under their leadership,” said Phil Schneider IDCAG Superintendent.
When the deal closes Northwestern Media grows to 81 broadcast licenses in 13 markets and ten states.
