Northern Christian Radio To Expand

Northern Christian Radio has filled an application with the FCC to acquire Good News Media in a $1 transaction. Both organizations are based in Michigan. 

In the deal NCR would acquire a total of 8 stations and 2 translators including (95.9/105.5) WLJW/Traverse City, MI (Fuel FM), (1370/1400).WLJW/WLJN/Traverse City, MI (The Source) and WLJN/Traverse City, (89.9) and WLJD/Charlevoix (107.9). Also included is Traverse City translator W281CG at 104.1 FM, and Cadillac, MI translator W264DQ at 100.7 FM.

Northern Christian Radio studios/offices are based in Gaylord, MI and currently operates 4 stations and 2 translators including WPHN/Gaylord (90.5), WOLW/Cadillac 91.1), WTHN/Sault Ste Marie (102.3), WQHN/East Jordan (100.9), and translators in Petoskey & Newberry  (Promise FM) 

Northern Christian Radio President/GM Pat Scott who has also been Good News Media interim GM since Brian Harcey’s retirement in April this year tells HisAir the deal has been in the works for a while and is awaiting FCC approval. At that time the Good News Media board will be dissolved.

Northern Christian Radio formed in 1985 and Good News Media in 1982, both have a long history of broadcasting the Gospel on radio.
